The R30, the sixth generation Skyline, was released in August 1981. Initially, the phrase "car is love" was used, and in the latter model, "Newman Skyline" was named after the actor who acted as an advertising character.
The GT series with the traditional L20 6-cylinder was the top model of the turbo since its predecessor, and the initial hot model was the turbo GT-ES equipped with a variable suspension.
